The Miss Country Sunshine Pageant is Proud to introduce our very Talented and Distinguished Panel of Judges for 2010
Bob Jones
Bob Jones is a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a BS in Business Management and an emphasis in Communications. Currently Bob is the Regional Sales Director for AAA Insurance and an investment Realtor.
A certified Miss America judge, Bob has coached several Miss America contestants. He is a veteran judge who has judged numerous local, state, regional and national pageants. Most recently he was one of the first judges for the new “Miss Division” of ANTSO, America’s National Teenager pageant.
When Bob is not working or involved with a pageant, he enjoys entertaining at his vacation home on Nolin Lake in Leitchfield, Kentucky.
Tess Frizzell
Tess Frizzell Born in Music City USA to Country Music Royalty. Tess is the daughter of two time ACM /CMA duo of the year Shelly West & Country Gospel Artist / Producer Allen Frizzell. Legends stand tall on both sides of the bloodline of this talented young lady; her mom is the daughter of Grammy Award winning Country singer Dottie West, her dad the younger brother of David and the legendary Lefty Frizzell. Tess Learned how to walk on a tour bus, learned how to write her name as an autograph, and her back yard was replaced by a backstage of TV show’s like Nashville Now, Music City, and the Grand Ole Opry, just to name a few. By the time, Tess was thirteen; her mom took a break from music and stopped touring. But music was still all around Tess. Her dad talked her into singing with him & her little sister at church, and it wasn’t long before she had request every Sunday morning. Tess graduated high school , went off to college and while attending Belmont University , a well known university for music in Nashville – right off music row just a few blocks from her dads studio, she began to drop by to say hi, it was during this time , her dad convinced her to sing her first demo for one of his publishing companies. Since that time she has done many demo’s, and when she’s not in the studio with her dad she’s out on the road with her uncle David singing her mom’s part from the famous duo FRIZZELL & WEST.
Tiffany Collier Love
Tiffany Collier Love- A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Tiffany Collier Love now resides in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband Melvin Love. Tiffany received a four year athletic scholarship to East Tennessee State University. She received a Master of Science in Clinical Social Work with a concentration in Behavioral Health, and a Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Development/ Child and Family Studies.
Tiffany is currently the Licensed Master Medical Social Worker for the Department of Psychiatry at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She provides psychiatric counseling for psychiatric patients. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Psychology at Vanderbilt University.
No stranger to pageantry, Tiffany is Mrs. Tennessee International 2008, and placed Top 10 at the national Mrs. International Pageant. She is the Assistant Director of the “Miss Spirit of the South Cash Prize Pageant,” which assist pageant contestants with paying entry fees. She has been active in the Miss America System as a contestant. She considers herself to be a queen by experience. Before aging out of the Miss America system, she competed in the Miss Tennessee Scholarship Pageant as Miss Kingsport 2004 and Miss Spirit of the South 2006. In 2004, she was the recipient of the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of Tennessee Community Service Award. In 2006, she was the recipient of the Miss America Scholar Athlete of the Year Award, and was featured in “Four Points Magazine.” She was a talent preliminary winner and a Top 10 finalist. In 2007, Tiffany was invited to perform her talent preliminary winning performance during the finale of the Miss Tennessee Scholarship Pageant. Tiffany is thankful for the Miss Tennessee Organization. She believes pageants provide interview skills, which equip young women for white collar executive positions.
Tiffany enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband. She founded a positive reinforcing national non-profit organization entitled, “Tenacious Teens 4 Christ.” She helps teens become involved in positive activities, which build life skills, further education, and prepares teens for adulthood. Larry Cohen
Larry Cohen has been involved with pageant for over ten years having served as board member to Miss Music City/Miss Capital City. Larry has judged numerous pageants in Tennessee, Alabama, and Indiana.
Larry retired from the Tennessee Department of Human Services after more than 29 year of service. He is a resident of Antioch Tennessee where he shares his home with his cat hank, whom he rescued. Hank holds the distinction of having six claws on each paw and weighing over 20 pounds, but Hank isn't fat, he's big boned.
He is the former webmaster of the "I Love Miss America Homepage, and is a avid fan of local Miss America Pageants, which in his opinion is where the magic starts, He enjoys, surfing the internet, spoiling his great niece and nephew. He is a Political Junkie, enjoys reading current events, seeing various opinions of a wide variety of opinions and Miss America.
He finds judging local pageant a deep responsibility and weighs very heavily all aspects of a contestant. His favorite part unfortunately is the part most people don't see, the private interviews, followed closely by talent. He considers Miss America an America Icon, and is proud to be a small role in selecting candidates to the state pageant each year.
Wendy King
Wendy King of Chattanooga has been a volunteer with the Hamilton County Scholarship Association since 2001 as a media contact providing press coverage not only for the Chattanooga area but statewide as well. She has covered the last eight Miss Tennessee Pageants and two Miss America Pageants for Chattanoogan.com and other state publications. She was the only Chattanooga reporter present in Jackson when Hamilton County native Stefanie Wittler became Miss Tennessee in June. Wendy has also been a contributor to Fourpoints Magazine as both a writer and a photographer.
Wendy was selected the 2005 Hamilton County Scholarship Association Volunteer of the Year and the 2007 Miss Tennessee Volunteer of the Year. In addition to providing press coverage, Wendy is the creator and administrator of several Facebook groups including the Miss Tennessee 2009 Stefanie Wittler and Friends, the Miss Tennessee Scholarship Pageant and the Hamilton County Scholarship Association pages
Wendy is a Communications graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She is a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies’ Auxiliary, the Tennessee Sports Writers Association and the University of Tennessee Alumni Association. She is also an active parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where she is a Eucharistic Minister and a lector.
Desiree Daniels Disteridick
Desiree` Daniels Disterdick is no stranger to pageant competition. As Miss Tennessee 1982, she captured a preliminary swimsuit win and was first runner-up to Miss America. In 1984, she became Miss Tennessee USA and went on to be named second runner-up to Miss USA. Desiree` is an accomplished vocalist and recording artist, having sung all over the world. This former Brock Scholar, tri-athlete, mother of five and grandmother of one has served as a national spokesperson for MADD, as well as a missionary to Haiti and Jamaica. Desiree` graduated from Chattanooga State with a degree in education before moving to Los Angeles, California for ten years where she worked in music, voice-overs and commercial acting. She is currently finishing her bachelor's in Finance at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church and resides in Hixson, Tennessee.
Scott Hilburn
Scott Hilburn, a West Tennessee native, attended Middle Tennessee State University where he majored in business administration. After traveling the state, he settled in Murfreesboro where he is a manager with a major national banking corporation.
No stranger to the pageant world, Scott has been involved in judging and producing Miss America preliminaries for several years. He is also an accredited judge for the Miss America Scholarship Pageant System.
Scott is an active volunteer for the Tennessee Democratic Party as well as other various Church and community organizations.
Because of his wire haired dachshund, Miles, Scott is also active with the Brown Dog Foundation.
In his spare time, Scott enjoys traveling, meeting new people and spending time with Miles

Jerry Lynn Alford lives in Memphis Tennessee where he serves as a state field director and historian for the Miss Tennessee Scholarship Pageant. He has judged many Miss America Preliminary Pageant, as well as several Miss America State Pageant. He is proud to be a Tennessee representative for the last twenty years. In 2005 he received the honor of Volunteer of the year for the Miss Tennessee Scholarship Pageant. He is a graduate from the University of Tennessee- Martin. He hold a degree in wellness and fitness from the University of Memphis. He is currently employed by the city of Memphis Fire Department.
Cydney Miller was Mrs. Tennessee 2008 and competed in the Mrs. America pageant in Tucson, AZ. During her reign, she made over 80 appearances and represented the Susan G. Komen Foundation for a Cure, the American Cancer Society and the 100% Graduation Campaign. As a result of her work as Mrs. Tennessee, she was the recipient of the first ever Giving Heart award by the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Cydney is now taking her cancer awareness platform to the next level and is starting her own grass roots organization called “The Road to the Cure”. She is the current Mrs. Clarksville International and will compete for the title of Mrs. Tennessee International this September.
Cydney has a Bachelors of Arts Degree from the University of South Florida with a double major in Sociology and Interdisciplinary Social Sciences. She is currently completing her MBA with Bethel University and will graduate in December 2009.
